Desert Marker


This marks the fourth scene I’ve done using that Marker model. Though in one of those is was, at best, a background object you had to actually look for if you want to find it.

The ground uses a mixture of procedural textures and two image textures, as well as adaptive subdivision (which I had to tone down in order to keep the renderer from crashing) with quite, quite detailed displacement.

Like all my outdoor scenes nowadays, this uses the magnificent Blender add-on Pro Lighting: Skies. Or rather, its demo because I still can’t afford the full version, beautiful though it is.

Render time, quite surprisingly considering the immense amount of polygons involved, was under fifteen minutes.
